An adventure in Svalbard...
Finally I can let the cat out of the bag and share with you one of my biggest projects this year. I am thrilled to have filmed the Autumn / Winter 18:19 campaign for Craghoppers, a film I have been working on over the last couple of months.
I was enlisted by the awesome Andy Smith of Cactus creative who has worked with the brand for some time, producing superb concepts over the years. The 18:19 campaign saw us travel to Svalbard, one of the world’s northernmost inhabited areas. I’ve previously worked in Norway, Sweden & Iceland, but Svalbard is truly a different world. The terrain is incredibly dramatic, featuring rolling glaciers, mountains home rare flora and majestic fjords. During our visit it was the time of the midnight sun, providing us with 24 hours of daylight. It is illegal to leave town without being armed with a rifle due to the possibility of Polar Bear attack. Fortunately for us throughout our adventure we were accompanied by armed Base Camp guide’s who were fascinating to talk to, we heard all about the history of this remote location & how it continues to thrive today.
I hope you enjoy the film, be sure to check out Craghoppers, they make some great pieces of kit!
